Art Lesson #020 : Central Park Winter

So carrying on the quest of re-creating paintings by Ekaterina Smirnova, I gave a try to this spectacular winter view Easy step by step watercolor tutorial: winter in Central Park. The painting is pretty much monochromatic with shades of grey. So here is my piece.

Camlin Colors: French Ultramarine, Payne’s Grey and Chinese White

Overall: I like the impression this painting gives, and winter is my favorite season so a good start of winter on my canvas. I didn’t have the white gouache(it is pretty hard to get in India), so I used the watercolor Chinese white which gave me bigger snow flakes but I found it worked fine here.

If you have been to Central Park, New York, what do you think of the painting?
