Art Lesson 015 : Autumn View

So, I haven’t bought any masking fluid and was looking for other ways to achieve such results to see whether I should buy masking fluid or not. I came across this Masking Trees & Rocks With Tape Autumn Watercolor Tutorial where thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich uses tape instead of masking fluid to achieve the same results. As the areas are trees and rocks they can be easily done by scotch tape. And here is my Autumn view painting.

Camlin Colors: Viridian Green, Vermilion Hue, Lemon Yellow, Sap Green, Sepia, Raw umber, Indigo and black pen.

Overall: I don’t know how its looking fine in this photo but I personally hate this one. There are number of things that are wrong here: the horizon line is too high, the colors don’t look in peace in the forest area, the rocks are too artificial and the list goes on. Lets just say not one of my fine works.

I think I would buy the marking fluid because I realized its purpose here and would love to do some fine works like flowers in the future.
