Art Lesson 014 : Pea Bud

I have come to love the colorful paintings done by thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich even if I don’t prefer the splatter she sometimes does. So here is another one inspire from How to Paint a Sweet Pea Blossom in Watercolor  and this one is my pea bud.

Camlin Colors: Mauve, Magenta, Sap Green, Lemon Yellow and Viridian Green

Overall: Loved the colors chemistry that came out on this bud. The hard edges are something to work out but I like them in this painting. The stem colors didn’t blend well but they don’t seem to take the focus away from the bud.

How do you find it? My mother picked the painting upside-down and said the rose is looking a little weird 😉
